I've exchanged a couple interesting emails with Randy Haines, lead guitarist on a local 'heavy metal' band that's looking for a small chorus (8-10 people) to sing backup for shows in non-bar settings. I must know nothing about heavy metal because I thought I hated it, but I liked the music, and it's easy to see (hear?) how a chorus could enhance it. People should bring songs they would like to sing; bring lyrics if you would like people to sing along! Bring guitars or any other instuments. All levels are welcome! If interested, write me and I can give more info, give direc… Continue

Donations continued to arrive at Figgy Pudding Central, and as of Jan 31, the event had raised $73,558 for the Pike Market Senior Center and Downtown Food Bank! The Phinney Neighborhood Community Chorus accounted for about $3,300 of that amount. The Seattle Metropolitan Magazine has a one page spread on Figgy Pudding, p46, including pictures of the Seattle Labor Chorus, Llew Crew, Seattle Sugar Plum Elves and The Turning Institute Singers. We've received several rave reviews for our Dough Bells… Continue
